The original art used for this
print was a pen and ink drawing on illustration
board. This medium is totally unforgiving, so it
was a real challenge not to have a slip-up with
the pen. Every stroke and ink wash was critical.
My intention was that the viewer sense the wind
moving over this finely sculpted Rolls Royce
mascot as well as it's strength and beauty.

The original art for this
print was also rendered in pen and ink. I was
inspired by the classic lines of an old Mercedes
Roadster. In my opinion these cars are works of
art all by themselves. My intention
was to create a "gestalt". This particular
approach leaves much to the imagination and
allows your mind's eye to fill in the blanks.
Not all the information is given, thus causing
the viewer to
interact without even realizing it. The solid
black areas and many fine lines lend
themselves perfectly to the silk screen method
of printmaking, or what is otherwise known as a
serigraph.
